I’ve said it before and will always say it and stand by it. Yes voters are also responsible for how elections turn out. You just don’t want to be told that your stupid ass actions played a role in where we are now

By the way, that means voting in state and local elections. I would argue voting for members of congress is just as important, if not more important than voting for the president. Who actually has the final say on the presidency? Hint: It’s not the voters.

The politician has to win your vote. I know where you’re coming from but if all left leaning people only voted for democrats because they’re the lesser evil it isn’t a proper democracy. Also the democrats would just keep moving to the right to try to get more voters which is literally what happened last election cycle when they went anti-immigration.

That’s why the disapproval rating of democrats is so high, people on the left don’t feel represented. Your vote is your way of telling them that because we all know they don’t give a shit about anything else.

I actually would say voting for congress and state/local elections are more important too. I’m from NY state and luckily we aren’t as impacted by what a lot of administrations do bc of how our state wide policies are set up

Absolutely. It’s crazy that a lot of people don’t connect the dots between the popular vote not necessarily being indicative of the elected presidential candidate, and how congress (the electoral college) votes. I see it play out in my state (Kentucky) in real time with our dem governor having vetoes overridden by the republican congressional supermajority all the time.

I truly just wish more people would understand the impact of voting and not voting in all elections. I know it’s not and end all be all type of solution but I genuinely feel like if more people understood the impact we wouldn’t be in as bad of a position as we’re in rn
