Of course. It brought national attention to the child separation practices, pressuring the IG to more regularly inspect the detention facilities to make sure they were operating according to standards. It led the way for the first impeachment of Trump for the Ukraine call. The findings from the drug pricing hearings paved the way for a lot of improvements to Medicare made in the Inflation Reduction Act
Our federal government isn’t a fast moving thing and conservatives have inherent advantages bc of things like the senate. Having the house would 1. Show that Trump doesn’t have this popular mandate to do unlimited insane shit. 2. Make his crimes more obvious to the public (there’s more now than in his first term) 3. Now things like impeachment will have less obstacles if public support swings more. The doomerism is so lame.
Yes the federal government moves slowly which is why it’s important to temper expectations. Everything isn’t going to be hunky dory when the Dems retake the house, and if people think it will be there will be even more backlash against the party for being ineffective and not getting things done. It’s politics
Why don’t you deal with that after the election lol, instead of doom posting about what right now seems will be a big win for us? There’s a difference between pointing out the intuitional limitations and saying it “won’t change shit”. I rather hype people tf up then have the intuitional convo after when we have positive shit to point to.
