Germany has low gdp per capita, but healthcare, public transit, and higher education are nearly free, the trades are adequately incorporated into the education system, and nearly everyone is at least conversationally bi-, tri- or quatri- lingual (depending on specific cultural background and locality)

You can’t say the same thing about Mississippi dawg. You get a broken leg there or your car breaks down, you’re fucked. And although education is getting better there (they’re no longer 49th in the union lol), it’s nothing compared to the German system. Also the only thing keeping y’all’s state financially solvent is welfare from California in the form of federal taxes. The fact that you earn nearly the same amount but are so unable to do shit with it is a stark indictment of GOP economics.
