The gerrymandering wars continue. NY split their map and in 2028 it may lean 23-3 democrat, while it’s 19-7 now. Red or Blue gerrymandering is bad for the county and citizen’s representation. There needs to be a moratorium on this or states wont stop

Before anyone comments “why didn’t you complain when Texas voted to gerrymander their map?” I did. It shouldn’t happen in red or blue states, it’s 2026. The president deserves his share of blame for encouraging this.

The sad reality is that gerrymandering isn’t gonna end unless democrats do it a whole bunch. Republicans aren’t willing to ban it as it currently disproportionately benefits them.

Republicans will never say “okay it’s even now, let’s stop”. Both sides will go back and forth forever. There has to be something from the Supreme Court to stop it, since whoever is in congress will only do whatever helps their side.

There’s no constitutional basis for the Supreme Court to intervene bc the rights are explicitly given to the states. There’d need to be a constitutional amendment or a grassroots effort in every state

So then democrats need enough seats to pack the Supreme Court, considering the conservative court just re-legalized racial gerrymandering
