Gang it’s not both sidesing. Centrist Democrats like Jeffries and Schumer are quite literally just Republicans in disguise. I’m sure this person is excited for the rise of DSA and all the progressives we’re getting.

I agree that the current GOP are straight up fascists, but for a time, Democrats were enablers. Just look at who voted to pass the big ugly bill or confirm Trump’s nominations for DHS. The only people who legitimately care and want to make changes are progressives. Corporate Democrats do next to nothing for us.

Idk what a corporate democrat is as opposed to a regular one but when I look at bidens administration I see the largest federal investment in clean energy in us history, student loan canceled for millions despite the Supreme Court, the first sitting president to join a picket line, expansions to the aca—the list is ridiculous and then mfs like op turn around like “bUt ThE dEmOcRaTs ArE rEaLlY tHe SaMe As ThE rEpUbLiCaNs” at the same time that we have a fascist taking over. Shit seems unhelpful

I agree with you that the Biden administration did plenty of objectively great things. In no way am I trying to say the party as a whole is the same as the GOP, I just named a few who are very bent on maintaining the status quo of appeasement to fascism, but part of why Harris lost is because centrism is not appealing to the Democrats’ base anymore. We need progressives to energize people to vote.

And unfortunately, this administration has helped show the ugliness of our government’s legacy in funding wars, dismantling foreign democracies, and killing foreign citizens. Sadly, this has been standard policy for Democrats as well. As much as I wish Harris (who I voted for) had been elected instead of this moron, because things would’ve been infinitely better, she likely still would have funded the genocide in Gaza. These issues are still important to bring up

And I say this as someone who is generally pissed at all the people who chose not to vote instead of voting for Harris because they took specific issue with her foreign policy. Because obviously the stakes were fucking ginormous and contributing to Trump’s election through voter apathy still makes people culpable for what we’re going through right now
