Private insurance also incentivizes hospitals to increase prices since they assume insurance companies are paying for it. So if you don’t have insurance you’re kinda just fucked, but also fucked regardless because insurance itself is expensive and usually doesn’t cover everything

Yeah. Getting ready to start rotations and people are talking abt residency, and you can easily pull 100+ hours a week and you’ll still only be making just over 60k… not a lot of money considering most residents have a shit ton of loan money they need to pay back, are sometimes the only breadwinner in the family of 2+ individuals and sometimes kids, PLUS paying thousands of dollars for board exams
