Trans adults have my full support to do whatever they want with their body’s but it’s so wrong to let a minor get any irreversible surgeries or hormones for the opposite sex. I personally know a couple people who thought they were trans and weren’t really

Puberty is an irreversible hormone change done without a child’s consent. But yeah let’s force all trans kids to undergo puberty instead of taking puberty blockers or the hormones they want just in case some people get it wrong

No one is advocating for surgeries underage. If they regret it then let them regret it it’s their decision on what to do

Also you have to be 18 to get tattoos or to consent to a variety of things and a kid who maybe doesn’t really understand what it means to be trans can end up totally screwed later in life, I think hormone blockers, binding, going by a different name/pronouns, and just changing appearance is fine for minors

Puberty blockers are ok, there was a girl in my school who went on testosterone in middle school and now has to live with a low voice and a stubble because of the negligence of her parents and doctors. Many kids do not know the difference of being a tomboy for example vs being transgender. I could maybe support hormones for minors with extreme cases of gender dysphoria but it really shouldn’t be so easy

I think puberty blockers are a minimum. Ordinarily I as a cis person would be fine with just that as an option, but my trans friends have expressed to me that they think they should have been allowed to get on hormones as young teens. Thats because being on puberty blockers can make someone feel socially outcast. They wish they had been able to go through the puberty they wanted alongside their peers.

That’s way to big of a decision for a minor to make😭 that’s absolutely ridiculous. If a twelve year old decides they want a giant skibidi toilet tattoo on their neck is that “their decision to make”?? And tattoos can even be removed hormone replacement is not always reversible. And yes people do advocate for surgery underage especially top surgery.

Yes. Feel free to regret and feel shitty about it. It’s not my problem

People make irreversible decisions about their life all the time

Since when did we start caring about regret in choices as a country? People are constantly doing things they regret

Well we do when it comes to children. It’s why we have a legal age of consent, minimum age for tobacco/alcohol/marijuana purchases, minimum age to drive a car, and why we require everyone under the age of 16 to get an education.

It’s sickening you think like this in regards to literal children who haven’t even gone through puberty yet.

I regret getting baptized, I regret making the friends I did who ended up being racist and trying to make me okay with it. We intervene medically all of the time for minors Why do you think kids are just walking in with a slight dislike of how they look and coming out with surgeries, that’s not the process.

Ok so getting baptized means absolutely nothing if you don’t believe in the religion and the thing with your friends was just a learning experience for you. Kids do not always understand gender dysphoria unless they actually have it. Kids may think they are trans because they don’t fit the stereotypes of their assigned gender. I have friends who transitioned as a kid and it worked out for them and I have friends who grew to realize they were never even transgender. We intervene medically for m-

Minors when it’s needed to keep them happy and healthy. Hormone therapy is way too much of a gamble to give a kid except for in extreme cases. There is a major difference here.

That’s why we intervene medically if they’re expressing signs. So that we can determine if they do or don’t have it🤯🤯

It’s pretty obvious that is not the case most of the time. Please learn critical thinking skills as you clearly did not use any with any of the arguments you have tried to make.

Kids need to grow up faster and learn the nature of the unforgiving world. We are coddling them too much

I’m glad I had common sense during my childhood not to do things I’d regret in the future.

Well I’m sure that’s not true and if it is you must not have learned very much. Not letting minors get permanent procedures is hardly coddling them.
