An undergraduate degree is no longer a status symbol, it’s a prerequisite. And 3.6 is not impressive. It is 73rd percentile nationally. You are an average American college student. Yes it is sad that the average student is struggling, but you are not a case of struggling exceptionalism

And a 3.6 is low… for what exactly? Like, most people don’t even graduate with a 3.5.

Unless you’re going into med school, which I’m not because I can’t even get an internship in this economy.

I wanted to do med school because my parents groomed me into it, but I wanna do lab work instead. Except none of the labs were open until I finished Junior year classes.

Rip, that’s unfortunate. I was kinda forced into it but I really do enjoy it so it’s not all bad, but I think if I had gone a different direction I’d have done mechanical engineering or smth

Yeah, I know a lot of guys who are in ME. Honestly, considering all you need to do is pass, I might do that instead.

I never said I was exceptional. I’m just pointing out my major and GPA. What’s with the rude tone?

Also, the average GPA is like a 3.15. 50th percentile is the average.

“73rd percentile” “average” wrap it up buddy

By average they probably meant “mid.” 73rd percentile for SAT is 1170. For MCAT it means 508 (which is pretty bad lol)

I wouldn’t necessarily say pretty bad, a solid interview and resume can make up for it during applications. Now an actual average, 50th percentile MCAT score really is bad

Well, yeah, but I’m not going to med school. My parents just wanted me to be a doctor.
