
Health insurance companies and drug companies first off do want a cure for cancer because it’s an incredibly lucrative source of income, especially with drug patterns so this is false. We’re already seeing this with a lot of the immunotherapy drugs that are coming out to treat certain cancers.
I see where you’re coming from, but I think they do a lot of research because it brings in money for them from grants and subsidies and the like. Additionally, those are treatments but not outright cures. Like I said, a lot of this is about slowly draining people of all their money, and if they can pull them along with treatments rather than outright cures that’s way more lucrative in the long run
Some immunotherapy medications are outright cures for certain cancers are curable if caught early on like prostate cancer. Unfortunately the physiology of cancer is far too difficult and nuanced to easily come up with cures for especially when the etiology itself is still quite unknown.
