haven’t we been doing that for ages? i never had to show anything… i just kinda said my name and they said “cool” and if i wasn’t on the list, they gave me a provisional ballot as is our right… i mean, they even called me when my signature didn’t match the one on file after a decade. i had to fax over my updated signature for my vote to count… i think we are safe enough already dude.

monkey want to vote. but monkey can’t vote unless monkey has monkey badge. badge cost bananas. so monkey effectively must pay bananas to vote. monkey also must pay bananas to get new badge every few years. not enough bananas? monkey doesn’t get to vote!

this is a “poll tax”. small words, i know. very simple. poll taxes were placed by the jim crow south to disenfranchise black voters. it breaks the 24th amendment of the constitution. blatantly unconstitutional.

this is all to say. i’m actually in favor of voting ids being required! but make voting ids free to everybody. free birth certificates. free drivers licenses.
