Iraq ultimately saw the fall of the Arab nationalism and the Baathist party in the country. Islamic fundamentalist groups like Daesh have been mostly controlled. However, Irans influence has also increased. So overall meh. I’d say Afghanistan is where we fucked up real bad.

We went into Afghanistan to get rid of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, spent over $2T to do it, and the Taliban was in charge when we left. Definitely gotta be up there

I’m not sure how accurate this is, but I’ve heard that many Vietnamese see U.S. involvement as less significant than Americans do, since Vietnam was also invaded by France, Japan, and China.
