Abortion disproportionally targets women of color. They don’t get enough support from the state, and are instead forced to kill their children. We need to increase welfare for poor parents and for childcare so that the evil of abortion is eliminated.

Okay I’m not against abortions but I support this. Finally someone who is anti-abortion and actually wants to address the root causes that make people need them in the first place. I’d love for nobody to ever need an abortion because of a robust and effective adoption system without an excess of kids, an extremely robust welfare system and maternal protections, and extremely easy access to pre-abortion contraceptives and effective sex ed

Abortion can remain legal for any reason under 15 weeks, in my opinion, and after that for cause. But we should aim for the lowest level of abortions possible.

Now this, this is based. I don’t necessarily agree with your reasoning, at the end of the day I have nothing against abortion as it’s ultimately not my choice. But I absolutely agree with the method you’re suggesting to actually tackle the core of the issue. We may have different opinions on the topic itself, but at the end of the day we want the same thing. Restores a little faith in humanity ngl

We’ve got different justifications, but I’m vibing with what you’re saying! Banning stuff outright doesn’t help often, but finding ways to incentivize family planning and reduce the actual need for abortions is a good idea. Do you also support access to birth control and proper sex ed, since that also reduces the risk of pregnancy and by extension abortions?

I’ll make this claim here as well, but consider this, if a fetus develops its major organs faster than usual it qualifies as being in alive in your opinion right?

I think it’s alive from the point of conception. This is just a legal compromise from my more libertarian social law viewpoint.

The choice itself is very significant to my point of view, once viability outside of the womb is reached, which comes later than when the major organs are functional, I just don’t think it should be in her hands anymore. If 15 weeks is just a compromise based on lower percentage of miscarriage, what do you stand for?

If it’s just completely wrong from the get go, how are you not against abortion entirely? If it’s wrong but the choice is important, the basis for that choice goes away once the fetus is viable. I personally think it’s wrong, I just can’t see myself telling a woman she has to give up on her dreams because of a potential life that isn’t viable without her support.

And I understand that isn’t necessarily a given, my parents had me in highschool but both finished grad school and have very successful professional careers, but not everyone has that mentality, or has the family support to be able to do that.

It’s complicated. I think it’s wrong, but I understand why people do it. That’s why I think 15 weeks for any reason should be allowed.

Yes. Even as a Christian conservative I do think that’s a good idea, because people will do it anyways.
