Anyone else have lived in such a diverse area that they genuinely forget to think of race? Like damn, I guess you're a difference race than me, took me like 5 minutes to think of it

I’m white from Virginia and I’m currently living in rural Oregon and I’m uncomfortable with the lack of black people here. It feels off. I’m not used to it.

This might sound weird but I feel like where I live, brown skinned Hispanic is the “default” race if that makes sense. Seeing someone white or black is a little out of the ordinary.

Texas to DC area and I guess there’s a lot less Latinos but there’s a lot more African Americans so that’s cool. Silver spring MD is super diverse tho (and also super mf rich )

It’s really cool living in an area with such a large Native American presence though
