hey so, if you hate your tax money going to other people so much, maybe we stop giving vouchers for rich families to send their kids to private school at a discount. if they wanna go to private school they can pay the dang tuition

THANK YOU because school choice is fucking stupid. Put that money towards the public school instead. The fact that private schools exist usually means there’s a problem that needs to be solved

Bruh I’m gonna be 100% with you, rich kids don’t get vouchers they don’t need them, vouchers are for poorer families who get scholarships to send they’re kids to public schools, trust me bro you don’t want to send your kids to an underfunded inner city school if there’s a charter school that will get your kids into Harvard.

Universal vouchers (scholarships don’t have income or ability requirements) aren’t as common but they do exist and taxpayers pay for 98% of it

Yeah but school choice isn’t a bad thing at least for people who have extremely underfunded public schools. Charter schools and non-profit private schools often have higher educational standards, and lift way more people out of poverty.

That’s why vouchers based on income and disability or are great! I’m not against vouchers at all or taxpayers paying for them but there’s no reason why someone with a household income of 500k+ needs free education more than someone who’s family barely makes 30k

It’s not lifting people out of poverty to give money from poor tax payers to other people indiscriminate of those peoples’ income. Vouchers should not be universal.
