watching republicans now say that gas prices are caused by world events and not the president, but refuse to acknowledge our president started this world event, so things are a bit different this time around, is beyond infuriating

There’s no contradiction here. It’s not even hypocrisy. It is a sincere expression of their beliefs. As is the liberals pointing it out, clutching their pearls, and just continuing on with no ability or intention of ever stopping them.
