The Trump administration has not done a single thing to make your life better. And no, your hard on for watching brown people get kidnapped is not a better life

If something broadly good happens during this administration, it is in spite of Trump. Same can be said of his first term.

Gas has gone down half a dollar in my area. Some areas it’s 60 cents. Deporting illegals is objectively good for the country and there is no reasoning to why they should be here. The only reason people want them here is bc they have too much empathy and they want to feel like they’re saviors to these people.

He didn’t do anything to lower those gas prices lol. We’re drilling for even less oil than we were under Biden, so “drill baby drill” was a lie. The price drop always happens in the winter because the winter blend is cheaper to produce, and OPEC has increased their production

I don’t think those are enough to change the price 60 cents. It never fluctuates that much.

Seasonal variation alone causes a 40 cent difference from June to December

One of OPEC’s reasons for increasing output is to regain market share btw. They know their cost of drilling is lower than the US. By pricing themselves lower and increasing supply, they want to make it unprofitable for US companies to drill. Like how Amazon underpriced everyone until they cleared out the mom and pop shops

Yeah that makes sense. It’s just been fluctuating like 10-20 cents for the longest time. Ig I can concede that to a point. Point still stands on illegal immigration. It’s objectively good. We need to arrest more people that are “peacefully protesting” and punish businesses owners for employing illegal immigrants.

I’m going to hold my hand when I tell you this: business owners will likely not be, and historically barely are, prosecuted for employing undocumented immigrants. If they did, the rich would have a serious problem on their hands

The deportations are costly and for some reason we’re going after green card applicants and pardoning drug traffickers

If the immigrants are harming people, sure, I can concede getting them out. Otherwise, I don’t support terrorizing ppl who are trying to build a life for themselvrs

Ik, it probably isn’t realistic, but what is in politics. They should be punished. Ik it costs about 17000 per deportation, plus we give 1000 to help them when they get back home. Not sure how we’re letting drug traffickers go, we just blew up “fishing boats” with “innocent fisher.” Closing the border did a lot against drug traffickers. I don’t think trying to build a new life is bad, obviously everybody wants to do that, but they need to do that in their own country.

I gotta ask since you’re the first sincere person I’ve seen in a while, is it worth rooting out the illegals here that have no criminal history if it means using racial profiling and running the risk of detaining/arresting regular citizens and residents?

They need to be punished somehow. There are illegals out there who’ve been here for twenty years and they don’t know English. They don’t know English, they don’t assimilate, they live in their cloistered communities and they don’t become American. The entire point of immigration is that you become part of the place that you immigrate to. You respect that places rules and values, illegal immigrants don’t do that.

So we punish them for not speaking English? And for living with people who are similar to them?

Yes. It’s America. You need to speak English. You don’t come to America, and expect people to learn the foreigners language to communicate with you. The person immigrating needs to learn the language. You don’t expect someone to go to somewhere like Japan or Korea and expect everyone there to speak English to accommodate you. That person is supposed to learn the language. Obviously it’s different if you’re traveling, but if you live there and you don’t know the language, something needs to happe

Living around people like you isn’t a problem. Obviously you can communicate with people like you in your language. The point is that you’re American, this is your home, and you don’t advocate for other countries anymore.

Illegal immigrants actively fuck the country up by being here. There are citizens here that advocate for other countries, people that don’t consider America as their home. They work here, take American people’s jobs for a third less, and send the money back to their home countries. Obviously not talking about all illegal immigrants.

No, I’m saying there are actual CITIZENS that advocate for other countries. There are people in CONGRESS that want to turn America into another country. What do you think illegals think when they see that?

That doesn’t really answer my question though. Like I’m not trying to dig at you since you’ve been pretty moderate on your takes up until this point but now you’re talking about assimilation when I was asking about profiling when it comes to border and customs enforcement, and you didn’t really answer what I was asking. Kinda leads me to think you’re more concerned about if new people fit in over whether or not they’re actually here to make a living and have a generally better life

upvote 1 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #5 2w

I am concerned if people “fit in.” There are cultures that just aren’t compatible with ours, and those people shouldn’t be here. There should be a reason why people are let in, a net positive should be brought by new people coming. I understand that people want better lives, I get it, my parents came here because they were fleeing war, but that is not the case with illegal immigrants now. People shouldn’t be let in just because they want a better life. Everyone does. People need to be screened.

I’d need more context on what you mean by profiling. Like I get what you’re saying, but do you have any examples?

I’m saying if there are citizens that are here that don’t care about America, illegal immigrants are going to be way “worse” in that regard for lack of a better term. There’s a difference between immigration in a pre-welfare state, and a post-welfare state.
