Anytime I hear the phrase Judeo-Christian I immediately disregard what the other person is saying tbh
very interesting stuff from newsmax... just randomly asserting that anything they believe in or value is critical and anything they dont like exists to disrupt. these are christian nationalists. they like authoritarianism. no freedom.

im jewish and our problem w the term is that Judaism and Christianity actually have quite different values and when people use this term they almost always are talking about things that are just Christian

True and good point on how ppl only use this term to mean Christian but they do also have a common heritage and a specific set of beliefs they both agree on word for word

actually not really! we share the Old Testament/5 books of Moses but the Hebrew Tanakh is significantly different from the Christian Bible. plus the two religions have very different ways of engaging with the material and very very different interpretations of it. the best metaphor i heard is it’s like: judaism is a puzzle. christianity took one puzzle piece from judaism, and then built a completely new puzzle around jt
