Nobody tell them that to use it ethically they’d have to completely retrain their models that stole writing/art without compensation or consent to only run on writing/art that people consented to be used for training

I feel like that’s like saying “in order to use your phone ethically you’d have to completely rebuild it by mining your own lithium or responsibly sourcing it”. There is simply no way for ordinary consumers to train their own LLMs at this time, otherwise — trust me — they’d do it in a heartbeat

Corporations can barely train their own LLMs without spending MILLIONS or more because of the infrastructure required. If it was cheap, they’d do so yesterday. That would resolve a fuck ton of legal and security concerns
