People don’t understand the impact of systemic poverty, the war on drugs, and the dissolution of black communities under the police state. Instead they just decide to be racist. Notice how natives and Hawaiians have higher rates too. It’s because they are subject to systematic injustice which leaves them impoverished.

Importing crack into black communities in the 80’s and treating it with 10x the severity of coke possession and arresting parents and turning the now-parentless children into drug lords that run the corner created a self-sustaining prison pipeline that leads to significantly socioeconomic strife within black communities. It’s inherited trauma.

Are you saying white people are 2x less civilized than Asians? Or can you agree that Asian culture is very different in terms of the way ego is developed relative to societal role?

It's not something intrinsic to black people. There are historical reasons why this is an issue in the united states, why urban ghettos developed after the civil war, how certain groups of people were uprooted, deprived of generational wealth, kept away from wealth and success with deliberate legal policies, jim crow, segregation, discrimination - openly until a few short decades ago and the legacy of all of that endures in the facts on the ground. Simply declaring legal equality was not a magic

Because you seem educated on this (and I know I'm not) are there any sources (specifically books) you'd recommend to learn more about the drug war and its effects? Def gonna go searching myself but wondered if you had any specifically

Pipe Dream Blues: Racism and the war on drugs is good one from ‘91, but honestly I would recommend the Netflix documentary Crack: Cocaine, Corruption & Conspiracy, as it provides perspectives from users, dealers, and law enforcement

What do I need to engage with? Whites in poverty have a lower murder rate than the richest blacks. So it’s not poverty. I’m not sure how the war on drugs correlates to murder?

Black people had a higher murder rate in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s? The graph would look similar to this. It’s not poverty either because impoverished whites don’t have murder rates that high.

White impoverished communities tend to be less urban and were not systematically targeted by police as part of the war on drugs. They were also not subject to ghettoization, redlining, and systemic racial discrimination. The war on drugs created generational disruption of black families and lessened job access to black communities due to legal discrimination against felons, thus encouraging the development of gangs.

These disparities simply exist in every single country. You can look in Denmark, Germany, etc. crime rate by nationality reports and you’ll find the same thing every time. To be frank, you will always make an excuse for “minorities”. You’ll blame everything but them. Did the Irish and Italians not undergo systematic discrimination in America? The problem is you see an issue that persists for decades and blame the “system” because it’s an easy and low effort to do.

I can’t believe African immigrants in European countries would be poorer subject to racism! Crazy concept. The Irish and Italians were famously involved in crime you dingus. Irish gangs? The Italian mafia? They *stopped* being as involved in crime when they stopped being systematically discriminated against because black migrants were coming into northern cities and being targeted instead.

Like genuinely this is some “disease is caused by bad smells” or “meat spontaneously generates flies” level of laughably simple worldview. We are in 2025 and you genuinely believe “brown people worse” like some 18th century inbred British aristocrat.

And also there literally were people back in the day saying the Irish were racially inferior due to them being poorer and more violent. This is some recycled shit

Black people were more likely to murder when they were told their lives held less value than others because of their race? That surely doesn’t open the door for people to think it’s ok to convince themselves that their own lives had more value than others.

There’s like 10x as many whites as there are Asians. When you look at Asian countries crime rates you’ll find that western migrants have a lower crime rate than the native population. Really the point was to show one group is an extreme outlier

Poor white ppl live in the country. Their neighbors are usually 8 miles away…urban areas have more ppl. Poor urban ppl tend to commit crimes. Their neighbors are a few feet away…it’s not that hard to understand. Murder rates amongst us drop as u improve education and wealth

The poorest white cities have less crime than the richest black citities. Keep talking about how it’s poverty that makes them commit more crime - it doesn’t make sense. It’s just an excuse
