We legitimately should’ve taught more about separation of church and state in schools. Many christian Americans have been far too spoiled by over representation in gov and think that the country belongs to people of their faith. This is a secular nation

Wdym?? During the founding of the country, each state had their own state religions. Also, there are references to Christianity throughout all of our founding documents. By the way, total separation of church and state is impossible. This is one of the great secular lies that Americans have bought into. Law must be informed by morality, which can only come from religion, unless it is purely arbitrary preference. The secular state is a myth.

I challenge you to read what the founding fathers wrote in the constitution and other documents of that time period and honestly defend the idea that they believed morality was inseparable from religion. There’s always been light between the two and the founders knew that, that’s the reason they didn’t just make it simple and declare us a Christian nation

John Adams, writing to the Massachusetts Militia said: "Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." Washington's farewell address: "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports." NW Ordinance of 1787: "Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind.." FFs agree religion supplies the moral foundation

Largely religious men wrote the constitution and explicitly state that the government will respect no establishment of any given religion. These men clearly personally saw religion as an important part of their lives and the lives of some of their countrymen yet made the very distinct choice to make this an explicitly secular nation. Why do you think they made that choice? As opposed to enshrining Christianity as our state religion?
