children and researchers do not differentiate between abuse and spanking for a reason. if you slap your wife, you are beating her. if you hit a dog, you are beating an animal. it’s all abuse

and beating them teaches them what? to fear their caretakers? the child is more focused on the pain and the fact that they were beaten rather than their alleged wrongdoing. what is the goal? to correct behavior, or to issue punishment? please do not have children, and if you do, do not beat them
