I think the issue is that all of the news and the headlines that get pushed on social media are from the extremists of both sides which push both sides even further apart because they both think the other is terrible even though it’s only the extremists. I know that’s a convoluted sentence haha but I think it makes sense

I lowk feel like cancel culture started the aggressive views and MAGA exemplified it. I feel like both sides are battling to see who’s more extreme and can brainwash their voting base into voting for them less because they’re the best choice and more because they hate the other side more.

Maybe but I’m moreso basing this opinion off video evidence of trump and his affiliates speaking. That has not been warped or written with biasy.. it’s straight from the horses mouth who has done nothing but divide the country this way where extremists are the norm. But I simply can’t even be open to someone’s opinion when all they say is hurtful shit to every group in America aside from white men and their policies are a result of those sentiments. There’s a reason it was never this bad before

But I do think the extremists are a big problem bc it makes it nearly impossible to dig ourselves out of this hole. So yea I guess extremists are the problem. But I’m not open to hearing their opinions BECAUSE they are extremists, not bc I am if that makes sense
