Yeah, it’s good that there’s global opposition to data centers and Flock. But I don’t have any expectations of the right anymore. Good for you for holding on to hope though

…want them in their cities etc. keep in mind probably every last follower of Newsmax is a diehard Trumpie. Every last comment was people hating on him for it. 60% of them were people saying something along the lines of “I didn’t vote for this” or “I voted for him but I disagree” etc. this COULD (not will) be what starts to shift the tides. Who knows.

Rape, war, pedophilia, fraud, corruption, awful conduct, poor handling of global relations, etc… none of that was enough to make them change their minds. I’d rather ignore them and focus on invigorating people to fight the good fight. They’re too far gone to be brought back into any sort of realm of reality

I agree, but Republicans historically have been the opposition party of government overreach and surveillance. I understand that Trump has changed that, but that doesn’t mean that the voters, or at least some of them, don’t still have those values. A majority of Republicans hate data centers and hate Flock. If the MAGA wing of the GOP starts embracing that more and more, it might be the thing that makes them abandon the movement, precisely because it directly affects their day-to-day life…

…as opposed to stuff they just hear on the news and can claim is fake. There is no way to call data centers fake news when they drive by 6 of them on their way to work. There is no way to call Flock fake news when they drive by 20 of them on their way to the grocery store. This COULD finally be what does it.

Going to be honest with you, Republican politicians have never been opposed to government surveillance and overreach. And we’re seeing now with the ICE surges that MAGA’s “don’t tread on me” rhetoric is toothless. Pervasive government surveillance has bipartisan support, at least since the PATRIOT Act

The last Republican president to oppose the overreach/surveillance was probably Reagan. Sure there are still various congressmen like Rand Paul and Thomas Massie and Bill Cassidy who are opposition to it, but I agree that that belief has died, at least among the party politicians. However, many of the Republican voters still hold that value.

Yeah, I just don’t take solace in the fact that these people are so easily hateful and duped by everything else. If anything it’s just surprising they’re even angry about this. Anyway, won’t rain on your parade though, wasn’t my intention. Just feeling doomy about a solid 30% of the country

Well just know I agree with you I guess, at least for the most part. I just think there is at least a small chance that this is what does it. If you’ve watched the movie Don’t Look Up, which is obviously a play on the cult that Maga has become and the constant push of the fake news rhetoric, the people finally realize the government is lying when they look up and see the meteor. Maybe, seeing Flock and data centers first hand will have a similar outcome. Maybe it’s wishful thinking and…

Ukraine is pretty disputed. Data centers are disputed amongst the politicians, practically none of the regular people want them. I’m not talking about politicians lol I’m speaking about everyday Americans
