Fuck this economy when did the livable wage gone from $25k to $50k 🫠 so much for all that high school economics, can’t invest or save or even spend wisely when you can barely make it on a dual income. But sure billionaires “earned” their unusable wealth

I’m at least glad that the federal minimum wage has risen significantly since 2009

Yea but the other prices of these have risen way more so the minimum wage with living costs is worse than it was.

I’m thankful in my state the minimum wage is 15 and it’s actually livable for me because I live in a rural part and rent is $600 for a 2 bed house with a yard (split with my bf I only pay half that). I can’t imagine living anywhere with higher rent or COL.

The joke is that it hasn’t, it’s been 7.25 in my state (Texas) since 2009

$1k for a 1 bed apartment is typical around me for students, you have sell and arm and a leg to survive it’s soul crushing

$1k for a 1 bedroom is a crazy steal in my area, but I live in the city. You could get that if you live with roommates ($2k for 2 bedroom and split)

I live in what’s essentially still considered a frontier county 💀 I do live in town so that’s def part of it but the college isn’t even in this town technically lol. Everything just so expensive while jobs are getting more and more stingy on raises and offerings
