Eh maybe, or just someone idk (like a solicitor). I’d probably only answer if it was someone with a uniform on or someone I knew

Yeah. If I’m a nicer neighborhood I won’t exactly need one, if it’s a sketchier part of town maybe I’d get a ring doorbell for safety reasons

Peephole wont work since you can see pretty well from the outside if the person approaching the door is backlit

Also i’d rather have my interactions with strangers be recorded for safety purposes (brown in a pretty racist area, we got the doorbell after a few incidents the police didn’t take seriously)

Like they can see that there is a person looking out as opposed to no person standing there? And the dynamic that they know someone is actively watching changes something? I’m pretty sure you can’t identify someone from the outside end of a fisheye but I don’t gave one myself so idk

I get ur second point tho, about accountability with police and having receipts if you need them, thats a good point

Yeah fair enough, ig landlords probably wouldn’t be happy about custom holes drilled in a door lol

Yeah my apartment had a fisheye and my roommates and i tested it, we could literally identify who was standing on the other side if they were a couple feet away from the door

and we did have some harassment issues because of it, so the peephole was covered with a post it until we moved out
