Absolutely wild seeing libs already try to force Gavin Newsom down our throats. Just know this-anyone who wants real change will sit out 2028 if Newsoms the nominee. We’re not afraid of your vitriol.

I will probably vote blue no matter who in the general. but I will fight like hell to not have Newsom be the nominee and I will sure as hell do what I can to make dems believe I’ll just sit out if he gets it

the prospect that progressives won’t vote is leverage, even if lowkey I do think it’s important to throw your chips in for the lesser evil when the stakes are this high

it’s a hard play bc you gotta balance making the pols believe you won’t vote while also not chilling turnout for people who agree with you but I think it’s the way, at least for me. I’m constantly calling Chris pappas and telling him I won’t vote if he doesn’t stop sucking and telling all my friends to do the same. and ofc campaigning for his primary challenger lol

there are Green Party and/or DSA-ish candidates in primaries often, or running third party. vote for them, and especially get really obnoxious about spreading name recognition as early as possible bc studies have shown that’s like 1/3 of what drives votes and if there isn’t a viable challenger just call them constantly and tell them you straight up won’t vote unless they represent you, and be specific on the legislation

I spend a lot of time in the comments on my reps social media name dropping their more progressive opponents when they do stuff I don’t like, bc I know like minded people will also come to the comments

oh and go really hard looking for actual Green Party candidates in your local/state races because that’s where they’re most likely to get elected
