We all choose who to have sex with and not have sex with. Get over yourselves. When there’s no choice relative to sexual acts, that’s called rape, and I don’t think you want to imply all LGBTQ people are rapists.

If u are choosing not to fuck a man that means u find men attractive and just choose not to act on it. I don’t find men attractive at all dude

The word “trans” is new but ppl who don’t confirm to man or woman have been around for thousands of years lmao

Again, that’s incorrect. We have records from native Americans for example. Two spirited ppl were ppl who didn’t conform to man or woman lmao ur just historically illiterate

And just because something was done “back in the day” doesn’t mean anything. As time goes on things change. The way ppl express their gender changes

Yall don’t wanna go down the historic rabbit hole on this. Cuz there were def transgender south East Asians and if you go waaaaay back, it’s a match for people who are demonically possessed and making/demanding flesh sacrifices. Even down to the pronouns being “they/them”. Or maybe you do but… it’s been around being called by many different names for a loooong time, but yeah, originally defined as people who were demonically possessed (they/them + flesh sacrifices and the identity taking over)

Promises of a boon of power, sexual or otherwise… respect, whatever + new name, titles… the deadnaming of the former self… all of it. Since ancient times.

Two spirited was still counted as a separate gender from man or woman lmao. They fit a role that was neither man or woman…like I said. And we’ve evolved past “basic biology” lmao biology has nothing to do with gender. https://www.acluohio.org/news/transgender-people-have-always-existed/

The first documented transgender male transition in the United States was Dr. Alan Hart, who was born in 1890, had a hysterectomy in 1917, married his wife in 1925, and began HRT when it became available after WWII. He was also one of the pioneers of X-ray technology, specifically pertaining to tuberculosis, and has saved thousands of lives.

Sexuality is defined by attraction. You cannot choose what sex you’re attracted to. Womp womp, your argument sucks :(

Yall can barely choose what sex you are and for a while there you couldn’t even define what a woman was. The foundation of your words is about as solid as a stack of wet bread.

Because the foundation of your argument rests on sexuality being defined by actions, it’s not. Sexuality is defined by attraction. Look it up. I didn’t directly address the rape point because the logic that led you to making that point was flawed, which I pointed out. You didn’t address the fact that sexuality is defined by attraction, which obliterates your whole argument :(

Unless you’re Mormon then they call something about sex without action “soaking” but… I didn’t feel the need to look into that any deeper than what was initially described.

I’m not doubting your point that sexuality and attraction are way deeper than conscious thought OP, but the act of sex itself, is a choice. We choose to have sex with way less people than we potentially could. Heck, some people don’t have sex at all, and that is also a choice (most of the time) because it takes at least two people consenting to conduct the action.

Yes. However, everything you’ve just said is completely irrelevant because this is a conversation about sexuality, not the action of having sex. A homosexual is defined as a person who is sexually or romantically ATTRACTED to people of their own sex. Sexuality is defined by attraction, not action. You can’t choose what sex you’re attracted to, so you can’t choose your sexuality.

Neurons that 🔥together wire together. We don’t remember pleasure or pain, we remember patterns leading up to pleasure/pain. (It’s really strange to think about, but try it.) So actions/experiences either strengthen or weaken neural systems that regulate the amount of chemical release in response to stimulation. I’m agreeing w/ you that there does appear to be a pre-loaded circuit with various sources (some are quite heartbreaking, others, logical) But it’s tethered to action/time/choices.

So your statement is true, but incomplete and people utilize it as a catchphrase to absolve themselves of the responsibilities that come with choice/agency.

Sexual attraction and who you choose to have sex with are entirely different things lmfao what are you talking about

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 1d

Sounds like you’re just describing the fact that sexuality is a result of various factors including biological, environmental, sociological, psychological, etc. none of which are a direct choice to be attracted to a certain sex. I never chose to be attracted to women, and I didn’t choose to live my life in a way that would result in me being straight. Sexuality is so complex and so many factors go into its development that it’s impossible to control what you end up with.

Sexual orientation is by definition who you are attracted to. Scientific evidence shows that you are unable to consciously or willingly change who you are attracted to. You can choose to have sex with someone that you are not attracted to, and you can choose not to have sex with someone that you are attracted to, and that does not change your sexual orientation, because sexual orientation is only who you are attracted to, and not who you choose to have sex with.

Maybe impossible if you’re gonna be a little bitch about it… forgive me for sounding crass and I don’t mean you personally are being a little bitch with your journey dealing with it, but the amount of discipline humans have exhibited in all fashions of life doesn’t appear to have some kind of magic gate it can’t get through when it comes to sexuality + the acts that may or may not come with it. There’s cases of athletes/monks/scientists defying/defeating all sorts of mental/biological drives.

There’s now scientific evidence people were sexually attracted to people in furry suits. So much so the conventions became a legitimate problem. That was a learned stimulus/action combo. Just because something has evidence showing people were inclined to do it, doesn’t mean it’s a good long term behavior to celebrate/cultivate.
