“Bolshevik Genocide” is straight up just not a term used by an historian. Like, are we talking about the Red Terror, the Holodomor, the Great Purges, like what the fuck are we even referring to? And even out of those possible events, none add up to 66 million deaths, not even combined, and none of them specifically targeted Christianity. The only time I’ve ever heard this turn of phrase is on groyper Tik Tok, where they constantly deny the Holocaust or push dual genocide theory to diminish it.
Okay, so I binged it since that’s what you’re using. Looking at the source on that “66 Million” link, the source of it is a Christian radio station, and there’s no author listed on the piece. Nor is there a single decent source in the citations in the hyperlinks. Did you never learn about sourcing reliable research in like, Middle School English? Bing is definitely showing me sources on this, but not a single one is much more than a BLOG.
The Bolsheviks were not majority Jewish, they were majority Russian atheists, from Russian Orthodox families. Disproportionately Jewish compared to the general Russian population, yeah, they were that. But it’s also not shocking that members of a community oppressed by the Tsar would be easily inclined to join a radically anti-Tsar political party, nor does it have SHIT to do with Judaism.
There were a lot of Jewish Bolsheviks but they weren’t the majority within the Bolshevik movement. Which is easily explainable by factors that don’t boil down to antisemitism. The Tsarist regime had subject Russian Jews to brutal oppression for centuries, Vladimir Lenin made it a point to seek out revolutionaries from among the most oppressed people in Russia, the very poorest, the people on the margins. Knowing Russia at that time, that’s obviously gonna include the Jews.
Making a big deal out of Jewish involvement with the Bolsheviks is an annoying tendency because it’s basically just going “Wow, why was this oppressed minority group so active in the Revolution Of The Oppressed? Must be up to no good.” Like, no man, the Romanov family was AWFUL to the Jews, it’s no wonder you could find some radically anti-Romanov Jews.
