i’m glad you can look past the genocide we’re funding, that’s an amazing privilege to have; however, for most sane people, funding genocide in any way is a deal breaker. kamala isn’t and wasn’t going to do shit about income inequality, systemic racism, or any other issue communities actually face here. Neither is any other establishment democrat. I’m all for stopping trump, but our politicians are supposed to be imposing the will of the people, not corporate interests with a pride flag attached
miss 9 million dollars from israel definitely “doesn’t support genocide.” she pulled this same stunt last year. if she actually turned on israel, she’d be supporting protests and actively speaking out against it. she’s just saying this shit to get people to like her again. she’s “infinitely more popular” because US politics have been a two party state for over a century. it’s manufactured popularity
people who didn’t vote bc of israel and the actual candidates that support that policy are 2 different things people can be convinced to change (especially after seeing the damage Trump has done), but political candidates such as those in the DSA will always have their campaigns centered around israel quite simple when you actually think about it
It’s really not that complicated. Say the DSA or abstaining democrats are 2% of the voters. That might be enough to change the democrats from 50% to 48%, and if the republicans are at 50% They win. The abstaining group was determinative for the election, but that doesn’t mean they should be catered to more than the 48% who did vote for democrats
additionally, why do you think that we’d somehow have a different outcome to trying the exact same thing we’ve been doing for decades? the entire premise of the “lesser of two evils” is designed to prevent the population from achieving meaningful change within our governing structure.
we are provided with concessions by either of the two approved parties, in order to prevent widespread civil unrest, meanwhile the overall system of oppression is never meaningfully deconstructed, solely reformed and improved in order to be better hidden. expecting a different result from doing the same exact thing over and over again, is quite plainly foolish.
(that’s without even discussing your inability (or refusal) to consider genocide a red line for any given candidate. the fact that both candidates are sympathetic (or outright supportive) of an ongoing genocide should’ve been enough to cause the majority of this nation to revolt, notwithstanding the widespread nature of fucking pedophilia and rape within our governmental structure)
