Not a revelation, but the Republican Party has embraced open bigotry so much so that a Trump-backed, ex-Muslim, Navy veteran named Amir Hassan lost an unopposed primary in (MI-08) by double digits to a guy that dropped out months prior to endorse Hassan.

I said he was Trump-backed already lmao. But be fr, it wasn’t his policies that made him lose to the white, mid-sixties guy named Thomas Smith. Hassan had to post a whole apology style video to his Twitter reaffirming his constituents that he’s not Muslim or an immigrant and even after standing on stage alongside Trump in late July, he still lost by 18 points. Like the other commenter said, they also mindlessly booed a dead police officer in LV when they said his name was Officer Abdelnabi.
