We really need to normalize the idea that ancient times were colorful. Everybody thinks it was all grey and then movies keep reinforcing it.

The Middle Ages were tacky as hell. Knight of the Seven Kingdoms isn’t even historical but they portray that decently

Ok? The goal of Hollywood isn’t to make movies as historically accurate as possible. It’s to make movies as compelling as possible, which sometimes means anachronistic costume design.
