Yes the DSA is the problem. Their policies are trash - abolishing prisons? No more senate? No more independent Supreme Court? If you can’t see why normal people don’t like that, you’re gonna be extra confused when democrats don’t win as much as they should during midterms.

Aw, can’t mane areal argument? Ultimately the whole model for the political process is that people/parties present their ideas, and voters have free choice. If DNC really thought DSA was that impactful they could form a coalition and collaborate with other voices.

You’re overestimating how many DSA members will never vote Democrat. If you were here during the last election many leftists refused to vote for Harris because she wasn’t as hard on Israel as the DSA. Many people will outright not vote if the DSA isn’t on the ballot, which is where the risk is. These people don’t understand the concept of voting for the lesser of two bad things. The decrease in popular vote between Biden and Harris supports this, although there’s lots of reasons behind turnout.

they’re sick of being TOLD that’s what they need to do. they’re sick of being told “her you NEED to vote for me to keep the evil guy out, right?” because that’s infantilizing and then pretends a better option is worse than their DSA opposition… take the Michigan democratic primary debate the other night, for example! Stevens kept just saying her intention was to simply beat the GOP candidate. we need more expectations for their actual time in office and answering the people’s wants/needs.
