Obama signed off on around 540 drone strikes throughout his presidency that killed over 3500 people. Does that pertain to Obama’s handling of Iran? Not quite. But I do think it pairs well with the 2010 Stuxnet attack on Iran nuclear infrastructure. So any attempt to say Obama wasn’t a warhawk ignores direct military action under his aegis.

Which is to say, his negotiated deal was a step in the right direction. But he had leverage and looked for a way out that wasn’t what Trump was doing on Israel’s behalf.

That part I am in agreement with too. He did take a better approach. I was being a pedant about your comment of “without a single bomb.” Which that’s still correct. My feeling is a sidebar of military action under Obama is at least helpful context. But my inclusion does seem to miss the point with Trump starting direct military action and brokering the same deal, but with direct bombs on Iranian civilians.
