Ok so you’ll want to do the laparoscopic approach, using the belly button and 2 other places for proper movement and visualization. You’d also want to start prophylactic antibiotics. First insert the camera to visualize the appendix in the right lower quadrant, then use the other 2 instruments to slowly cut and vacuum out the appendix, and finally cauterize the area once the appendix is removed to prevent exsanguination (time sensitive and partially correct answer)

Ok so no camera, I have a mirror, some vodka and a shard of glass. Also a needle and sewing thread (urgently time sensitive)

Do you have a lighter too? If so use the vodka and lighter to sterilize the shard of glass and the needle, cut about a third of the way between the belly button and the right hip, and get ready for a lot of blood and pain. Finds nd cut out the appendix and then sew it using the sterilized needle (please call 911 if you’re having an acute episode of appendicitis)

Honestly it’s kinda daunting tbh. I’m prepping for it now mostly through board questions and there so much I learned and didn’t even realize I forgot. However, there’s a lot that I remember that I thought I had forgotten about, once you REALLY sit down and start working towards it it starts coming back really quickly. I’d recommend keeping up with micro and pharm even if it’s just a little bit, clinical presentations and stuff you can work out but meds and bugs are really tough on boards

Kinda what I thought. Every new block I do, the info just keeps piling up and recently I was just thinking “how tf am I going to remember all of this” lmao

It’ll come back to you, but a lot of it is understanding the physiology and you can guess the pathology with a degree of confidence

Sick. Definitely one of my choices too. Loved my cardio block. Regardless, good luck to you sir/ma’am. Looking forward to possibly working with you in the future 🫡
