Read what YOU are writing. Anyone who commits any crime has committed an illegal act. It doesn’t matter what the act is. If you’re an American, and you commit an illegal act, by your logic and proper use of grammar, they are classified as illegal Americans. Illegal is the precursor, and what they are is classified by their status.
