People claiming the government needs to make cheating or adultery illegal is so insane to me because like guys???? We do NOT need the government regulating our relationships. That can go wrong in SO many more ways than it can go right.

I don’t think cheating should be illegal but I think that if cheating catalyzes a divorce, they should have to pay for the divorce and get a little less in the deal.

It’s already grounds for a divorce, especially in favor of the one who got cheated one, which is all a civil matter anyway. The government does not need to be involved in personal relationships outside of issuing the marriage license, which it should do to all citizens married properly by a licensed individual.

It’d take like 2 weeks before the government is prosecuting people for being polyamorous, women who ran away from their husbands, and people whose weird ex lies and claims they are still dating.

Not that there's no justification but in general I think all of those are harmful anyway

Wait hold up, you think partners fleeing abuse being persecuted for adultery is fine bc the adultery is still harmful?

No that would be one of the situations where it is justified and they never specified fleeing abuse

I think polyamory is already illegal if you marry multiple partners (bigamy). I always thought that was weird but maybe it’s a concern when it comes to taxes

Women running away from their husbands was pretty obviously implied it’s an abuse situation

It only took like 2 extra words to actually say that, and thats a big part of the reason why I said there are obviously justifications to these. If you want to be specific, do so

I meant an abuse situation. Perhaps I should have been more specific but that is what I meant.
