My middle school literally stopped teaching it after 2020, i was the last year to get any education on the subject. My little sister told me that they don’t have to read the diary of anne Frank anymore, it’s no longer part of the history curriculum from grades 4-8, and many of her classmates as a result did not know who hitler was until sophomore year in high school. Not to say that students aren’t not paying attention (my grad year had a known neo-nazi in it), but there are also just schools

I wonder what they replaced it with. I mean even still I don’t think you can find a US history textbook that doesn’t mention ww2.

They dont teach from a textbook, they replaced it with a unit on state history (which to be fair we never properly learned earlier)

In all my history classes it feels like they crammed as much in as they could and even still their where gaps
