Bethlehem still exists and it’s in the west bank so yeah His hometown of Nazareth though is in Israeli territory

It’s complicated bc of where the border is. Historically, it would be more accurate to say he was Judaean. I see a lot of people saying he was Palestinian, which is historically inaccurate bc the region only became known as Syria-Palestina after the Bar Kohkba Revolt in 70 AD

But it’s worth noting in this regard that Nazareth is today almost entirely Arab and is considered one of the major cultural centers for Israeli Arabs. Its population is 99.8% Arab, of which 69% are Muslim and 31% are Christian.

Nazareth was historically majority-Christian but many Muslims were displaced from their villages by Israeli forces and resettled there.

Yeah, that’s just a historical misrepresentation. The region became Palestine, but he was Jewish, and the region was not yet Arabized. But he was a Hellenized Jew who spoke Aramaic and likely also Greek, rather than Hebrew. It’s not the same as what israel tries to represent itself as.
