It wouldnt be the century of humiliation if the democratic party put its foot down and stood for something. but that would require it to be something it isn’t, a truly democratic party, and is therefore an impossibility

They’re useless and bad on purpose; people have begun to pick up on it at least. I don’t love Zohran but what he has been able to accomplish—despite pretty steep establishment resistance—is an example of what could be if our lawmakers wanted to get things done.

With respect, the democratic position is simply to scale back the bad things going on here, not change the structure of this nation to prevent them in the first place.
