Public transit can be infinitely more accessible than cars.
A kid or elderly person or disabled person can just wheel onto the transit, possibly from the sidewalk if it’s a tram
europeans can criticize american infrastructure without being fatphobic. i see so many of them assume we have car centric cities because we are lazy or fat. like okay? we want to uplift body positivity and plus size culture over here, not EDs.
Wheeling all the way down to the subway or sidewalk still takes longer than getting in a car

I mean, on a level boarding tram, not really, if your destination is along a tramway and you live near transit.
I agree in America, if your destination is a 15 minute walk from transit then that’s 15+ an extra 10 minutes to wheel.

Like if you happen to be outside and you want to go to a shop a few miles away that’s along a direct connection, you would just take the tram or subway or whatnot.
That’s the idea of a good transit network, that people will be outside more and you can just do stuff on a whim

Why wouldn't you just do that with a car? It doesn't have to be along any "line", you can just go where you want.

Hell, you can go places that there aren't even any roads if your car is capable enough.

Because cars cost a lot of money + you have to pay for parking?
I am able bodied, but that’s why I bike anywhere remotely feasible. I own a car but I despise driving

For example, I have to drive to work from my university because it would be suicide otherwise

I've never once paid for parking, and it's not like public transport is free either.
