The plain truth is that we have made a world where to be a real country you need nukes. Iran knows this, and so does the US. Thats why we’re so desperately doing what we are right now. We cant stop them with physical force, economic is all thats left.

America could absolutely stop them with military force if they really wanted to. Thing is, the American people really don’t care for this war. None of Trump’s voters wanna see their son die for Israel. The people engaged in the most effective economic warfare here are the Iranians, not the Americans. Iran knows that by hurting American pockets, they can completely stop American appetite for the war.

Can they? How do you know the state of Iran’s uranium enrichment, how well hidden and defended their sites are? How other countries might get involved?

Well the state of their uranium enrichment is “not enough to have a nuclear bomb” so that’s not really a factor, and the only countries to be worried about would be Russia, who are too busy in Ukraine to enter a conflict with America over it, and China, who are generally averse to direct military conflict. If America was willing to put forth 100% effort, they’d wipe the floor with Iran, but America doesn’t want to do that. Which the Iranians know, and are playing to their advantage.

I think this is also where war cheerleaders here in the States are extremely naive. They’re always like “The United States has the world’s most powerful military, we can win any fight easily” but that would only be true if the USA went all-out every time. Which it does not. The war cheerleaders ignore things like the will to fight, homefield advantage, etc. They see our extreme capacity for warfare and think we’re gonna use that entire capacity, which just isn’t the case.
