anti-BDS laws represent a much higher level of government overreach than any kind of modern socialist policy. as long as citizens united is valid case law anti-bds laws are plainly unconstitutional.

People v. Citizens United was a landmark case that created the concept of ‘corporate personhood’ whereby corporations enjoy the same first amendment protections as people. The case explicitly defined spending money as a form of protected speech.

anti-BDS laws prevent companies who choose not to do business with the state of Israel from receiving government contracts, and therefore penalize protected speech, because apparently spending money is speech.
