It's crazy the amount of mental gymnastics people go through when I tell them "I'm happier the way I am now than when I identified / presented as a woman." You'd think it's a very simple sentiment but it challenges so many of their biases

Honestly it’s because they don’t like seeing happy trans people, and additionally, seeing happy trans people would challenge their preheld beliefs. Conservatives don’t follow a logic. They come to (usually fear based) conclusions and then come up with a logic behind them Like I’m trans too, and I’ve seen this exact thing happen in real time when I tell people. I’m sure you have too (albeit I’m transfem so idk if there’s a difference with how they react for you)

Goddamn everyone on here (U.S Politics specifically) is either really conservative or trans. No in-between. (I’m conservative 😂)

Trans people tend to be more politically active as a group, especially after being made into a political issue. Contrary to what you might read, we aren’t a massive part of the population

no literally tho that nuance of intersectionality changes so much. like i am amab genderqueer / transneutral femme-adjacent so i get some of that misogyny but in a different flavor and because i’m amab and more androgynous, i get off the hook a bit easier.

I love some good intersectionality, what can I say? And yeah definitely. I mean I’m a nonbinary trans woman, and so my experience with misogyny is something that will be different even from yours despite us having the same designated sex. And I’d imagine shrimpy has a different experience too. Misogyny is something that can, and does, change depending on each person
