Tbf bro not to say this program is a bad thing but the funding does have to come from somewhere like higher taxes, or congestion fees. I think it’s fair to say nothing is free but that doesn’t mean providing those things to people is bad. I do think governments should budget better for their programs though. NYC does not want debt like the federal government.

On average, the ROI of education programs for kids 0-5 is 13%. When you look at programs on the younger end of that spectrum, the ROI is even higher. Don’t forget the correlation between low education and high crime, because you’re paying for criminals to be housed and fed for “free” too

Fair point honestly, I just think Mahmdani needs to be careful with how he budgets because he has a lot of very ambitious social programs for the city. Good ideas just expensive to implement.
