She wrote that paper to fail on purpose so that they could craft this media narrative around progressive and minority professors failing conservative students. They know their audience will not read the rubric and essay, and will simply get angry about it

I went to a very liberal college and wrote a paper against the concept of queer Utopianism and got an A. That Oklahoma girl is just a plain dum dum.

The girl’s mom is a lawyer and strongly Republican, she’s in the school’s TPUSA chapter, etc. The essay was written to fail so that she could claim political and religious persecution. If she’d written a rigorous essay arguing her position, she probably would’ve gotten a passing grade. But that’s not what she actually wanted. She wanted that professor fired.

I mean it seems obvious this was a setup. But I’d also like to say: don’t attribute maliciousness to what could very well be explained as ignorance.

I think it could be explained as ignorance, if the facts of the case were different. But I don’t believe that a rich college junior girl from a wealthy and highly educated background is quite that dogshit of a writer. When taking her background into account, she loses the benefit of the doubt on ignorance.

Eh, I don’t love that imposed dichotomy, because it’s possible and maybe even common for folks to be motivated by both, sadly. 🥲
