i could be wrong, but i think nuclear is. SC is a deep red state, yet almost 60% of our energy comes from nuclear. Republicans aren’t anti-nuclear, so long as they can still enjoy the same benefits that fossil fuel corruption provides them. they recently sold our state energy monopoly to Dominion energy because of a scandal related to the bankruptcy (bc of mismanagement) of a nuclear reactor project

but also, SC has been pushing hard into natural gas, with pressure from the federal government to potential drill for oil off the coast

I’ve definitely heard more about nuclear energy as nat sec in like, academic circles but I mean more in the mainstream ya feel?
