this might be hard to believe, but usually outside actors decapitating a regime when there isn’t a well-organized opposition movement ready to take power usually doesn’t result in a regime change that actually benefits anyone

It’s seems like Iranians are desperate for a regime change right? Idk how organized the opposition is but from what I’ve heard there is a lot of it

yeah they would like a regime change but who do you think will be faster to create a contingency here - the existing govt or millions of people who have been under internet blackout and who, from what i understand, aren’t usually in political coalition. While they are being bombed

at the very least we are now going to see a split among that opposition movement of “people who want regime change and support US action” and “people who want regime change but their sister or son or uncle got blown to pieces by US combat strikes”

for comparison. Lots of people here in the US would like a different govt than we have. And they can’t even choose someone good with years of notice
