This isn’t a left and right thing. It’s a demographic thing. By generalizing all you do is straw man people, which is counterproductive to a conversation. A simple why did people donate to this or that would suffice. My thought is it’s stupid and both people deserved nothing. Just stupid people being scammed for their money, tale as old as time.
Could you explain why you think it's a demographic issue rather than a left/right issue? Also, your claim of it's a "demographic thing" is a generalization itself. My statement did generalize from where the majority of donations came, but I never claimed donations were solely from the group nor everyone in it contributed. That's not a straw man's fallacy. I was not misrepresenting anyone's claim to gain an advantage. I was just asking a question.
I’m struggling with the right terminology but I don’t think the funding was politically motivated. I think it was personal agreement or sentiment with the individual. I don’t believe your intention was to straw-man but bringing left and right into something that isn’t inherently political is inflammatory because it will associate the person’s actions with that group. It’s a popular tactic used by certain individuals to create an us vs them mindset.
