I want to live in America because I love my nation’s values. The current government is not representative of that

Its kind of funny seeing leftists get their own Ruby Ridge style event and pretending this type of stuff is unprecedented

I hate to break it to you but this is significantly worse than a botched raid on a violent white nationalist. This is violent white nationalists roaming the streets beating people down and kidnapping any brown person they see off the street.

Seems pretty similar, they're calling them a terrorist on national news and using political beliefs as a justification for killing people

I just think its funny because when Ruby Ridge actually happened there was an idea that "the government would never do that to me because I'm not a white supremacist" what now?

Randy Weaver was a white separatist and was quite literally a seditious traitor, but even then the government recognized their mistakes and compensated him and his family for their wrongdoings. What’s happening in Minneapolis and around the United States is very clearly the suppression of dissenting thought and speech, people that believe in the ideals of the Constitution are being shot and beaten in the streets by a government that only seeks control.

Yeah, I'm sure the government and media benefit from slandering someone's political beliefs after they kill them or their entire family? Whats your point

Trump's admin said pretty similar about Renee Good

Brother no leftist has ever been like “yeah man, the government was goated at Ruby Ridge” lmao I would think the crowd who’s constantly on about Ruby Ridge and Waco would also be opposed to a three-letter agency killing people with even less reason than they had at Ruby Ridge, but I guess if it owns the libs then it’s fine, right?

My whole point is that politically motivated violence didn't become an issue that you guys even cared about until it was directly affecting you.

I say Ruby Ridge to show how far back this violence goes, but I know you guys didn't talk about the Bryan Malinowski either.

Did Ruby Ridge, an event from well before you were born (I’m assuming you’re college-aged like most people on this app) directly affect you?

Malinowski did but that's all I want to say about my connection to it so that I don't self doxx

This is exactly like when I criticize Trump and Republicans are like “well where were you when Obama did <bad thing> huh?” and the answer is “I was nine years old” like man maybe we’re talking more about this rn because this is actually happening rn, and not twenty-some years ago

The "that was when I was 9" argument is the whole reason I brought up the Malinowski case, it was in 2024

Yeah man I think it’s bad when the federal government kills people for alleged violations of the law, I didn’t hear about the Malinowski story when it happened but just googled it and that shit was bad. See how easy it is for me to not equivocate my anti-authoritarian stance just because the person the state killed probably disagreed with me?

Wow yay, you glossed over it. Now can we complain about it being proof of government tyranny for weeks on end or is that reserved for when they agree with your political ideals?

Politically motivated violence has ALWAYS been an issue we care about tf do u mean?! That’s literally how MLK died and it sprouted 100s of protests across the country nation which then led to several anti-segregation bills being passed. It’s really important that you learn about history.

Well one of these things was well over a year ago under an executive who is no longer in power, and the other one happened less than a week ago under an executive who is still in power, so there’s sort of a natural difference in the cases here buddy

Tbh, it doesn’t even matter who shot him, it was politically motivated and u can’t even argue that… he was a civil rights activist that died for it

No but he definitely changed their internal operating procedures and investigative priorities, like all presidents do with all executive agencies. Also, disbanding the ATF is simply not a good idea lmao somebody’s gotta regulate weapons

Unless they're like nukes missiles or drones I honestly don't see why we need someone to regulate weapons

The FBI murdered hella civil rights activists and did tons of other awful shit, but it would be kinda crazy if I was like “yeah nobody should investigate federal crimes at all because COINTELPRO was bad”
