i grew up on medicaid, food stamps, and free school lunches. my mom and i cried together when the bill passed because we knew those things saved us after my parents got divorced. my dad cheered it on because he didn’t know i benefited from them.

Sounds like you and your mom should get a job and work.

So instead of actually responding to what I said, you just defaulted to name-calling and exaggeration. Nobody said kids should get jobs that's not even close to the argument 😭. But go ahead and twist things that far to make your point, just shows how much of a dumb ass you are

Clearly you didn’t read the full bill…or understand it enough to know the meaning. Also what does a college education have to do with getting a job ? 😭 there’s plenty of jobs that doesn’t require a college education

Not all full time jobs look for that? Tf 😭 I was promoted to a manager for a job I worked at for 1.5 taking a gap year form HS… 😭tf

Bro I can literally find jobs with no education requirements or experience easily 😂💀 tf you mean… I’m probably older than you gang 😂 and yes you’re correct, bills always affect a number of Americans but that’s literally with every decision that a government makes there’s always that 1% or whatever low ass # it affects.

Not even being an asshole about it 😭😂 literally if you have a full Time job, you’re fine it won’t affect you much. And they’re disable people than the bill wont even apply to them

And from your argument You must be bias against people who lived in the ghetto…like from your initial argument what if I can’t help if I was raised in the “ghetto and learn the language”

my mom worked three part time jobs…. three because none of them had enough hours for her….. part time jobs don’t provide you health insurance……. i also was working almost everyday after school to help with bills lmfao that shit literally saved our asses and helped us get to where we are today, so it really hurt us so badly because even if you can’t work for whatever reason (literally none of our business), you should be able to have insurance and food

Grew up on implies when they were younger. After my parents divorced implies a while ago. They are not talking about now, they may have a job now. They’re not saying they benifit from those things currently, but did in the past. You said you should get a job and work, as opposed to needing those benefits. Well they didn’t say they needed them now, just when they were younger. So you imply that as a child, op should “get a job and work.”

Again my comment implied currently 😂 if I was implying that her as a child I would have said “should have worked”

I’m sorry yall went thru that. But again the bill wouldn’t have affected yall. It isn’t aimed at people like your mom or you. It’s focused on able bodied adults without dependents who aren’t working at all. If someone’s already working part time it wouldn’t apply. The goal isn’t to punish struggling families, it’s to make sure the system isn’t being abused by people who could work a full time job but choose not to

ya we are upset those people cannot get help because they deserve help, too. everyone does. the job market is ass rn and you wanna blame the person?

Again. It applies to able-bodied adults with no kids who are doing nothing. If you’re working, in training, or can’t work for LEGIT reasons, it doesn’t affect you. This isn’t about being cruel, it’s about accountability. Helping people shouldn't mean creating a system where someone contributes nothing and still receives full benefits. If you're able to work, there should be some expectation to contribute. Otherwise, the burden just falls on the people who are already doing their part.

Is it fair that your mom worked 3 jobs to survive while a healthy 25yr old who refuses to work still gets benefits? That's the issue. Your mom earned support by putting in the effort. Thats the intent of the bill, is making that 25yr old accountable and to contribute to society and earn their benefits than being lazy. it's about fairness, not punishment.

ok so the 26 year old is applying to job after job and cannot seem to get a job, they don’t deserve help?

And if that’s the case they would be an exception and would be helped by government until they can get a job. Again I don’t think y’all truly understand the bill

ok so even if that kid had never worked a job, just because he is applying to jobs he gets help? who doesn’t get help then?
